PSO Weekly Update - Nov 21
1. Concordia Senior Parents Launch a Successful Start to the Year
The Concordia Senior Parents have kicked off the school year with great energy and teamwork. On October 29th, the team successfully completed their first major task—distributing the Senior Parent T-shirts. Thank you to our dedicated Hong Kong parent team for preparing refreshing lemon iced tea and ice cream as special Senior treats. Parents were thrilled to receive their shirts and are proudly wearing them at school events.
Following this, we held our first Senior Parents Lunch on November 13th at Jinqiao Commune X, where 30 moms attended. The gathering marked the official start of our pre-planning discussions for the upcoming Graduation Event in May 2026. The enthusiasm, support, and active participation from parents made the lunch a warm and memorable milestone.
With such a strong beginning, our Senior Parents community looks forward to an exciting and meaningful year ahead as we prepare to celebrate the Class of 2026.
2. The Pipers: Growing Harmony in Our Community
The Pipers began last summer as a small recorder group formed by moms in the Korean Community. What started as a lighthearted idea has grown into a joyful musical gathering, bringing parents together through simple and accessible music-making.
The Pipers will present their first public performance at the Christmas Bazaar on December 22, playing three Christmas carols at 12:00 PM at the Welcome Desk. As the group continues to grow, they warmly welcome not only members of the Korean Community but also parents from all Concordia communities who wish to join or support the group.
Through music, The Pipers hope to bring greater connection, warmth, and joy to the entire Concordia community.
3. MS PSO Snacks & Beverage
MS PSO were invited to MS fall social last Friday to sell snacks and beverages on the event. This tradition has lasted for a few years and is now a fun element that MS students look forward to. It’s also a great opportunity for volunteer parents to bond and mingle. This year we leveraged the opportunity to invite students and parents to write thank-you cards for the upcoming staff appreciation week.
4. High School Treats Event
On November 19th, our high school was filled with a spirit of gratitude and community during the High School Treats event, held in honor of the month of peace and Thanksgiving. The day began early, with dedicated Grade 9 parents starting their morning by cooking delicious and popular Korean Buldak, filling the halls with an incredible aroma. This preparation was not just about the food; it was a wonderful bonding and serving moment for the parents themselves.
When the time came, they enthusiastically came to serve the students directly. A huge thank you to the 14 Grade 9 parents who came to serve! The students thoroughly enjoyed their special treats and felt truly celebrated for their hard work, making for a perfectly festive and appreciative atmosphere.
