High School

Concordia's High School offers a rich academic, athletic and fine arts program to students in grades nine to twelve. Students are empowered to expand their talents and gifts, encouraging them to pursue a balanced course of study that challenges them academically, emboldens them socially and spurs them spiritually.

Whether they have a proclivity for the sciences or the humanities, high-level mathematics or the arts, Concordia students can find opportunities to flourish within the high school program.

Teaching Philosophy & Methodology

Our focus is on providing authentic learning opportunities and a variety of life experiences through a tailored, flexible curriculum that lets students focus on their interests and talents while further developing their academic personalities. The curriculum blends core subjects, Advanced Placement and Applied Learning courses, allowing students to delve deeply into areas of interest and explore new passions. Beyond academics, students lead and participate in an array of extracurricular activities, honing their skills in competition, leadership, and creative expression.

Advanced Academic Programs

Concordia strives to expand and deepen student learning by designing a balanced curricular approach with breadth and depth. Students are supported to personalize their path by adding in appropriate challenge each year. In addition to a number of accelerated courses and Advanced Placement (AP) options across disciplines, the High School offers Applied Learning (AL) courses that encourage design thinking and use of the “deep learning” framework to authentically engage with and contribute to modern subject areas. Concordia also partners with the Global Online Academy (GOA) to offer an array of rigorous credit-bearing courses that allow students to personalize their learning.

High School Counseling

Concordia provides a comprehensive, developmental counseling program addressing the academic, career, personal, social, spiritual, and developmental needs of all students. Our counselors advocate for students and provide support to maximize each student’s potential, gifts, skills, and academic achievement. Additionally, counselors provide guidance in college and career planning.

College Counseling

The purpose of college counseling is to provide a personalized, student-centered program that informs and supports both students and parents. Counselors help students discover college or university communities that will best serve their academic and personal growth.

College Guidance is a four-year program educating parents and students extensively about preparing for college, the college search process, the completion of applications, and ultimately, the selection of a college/university. The degree of guidance increases and becomes more specialized as students advance through high school.

Counselors work with all grade levels throughout the year to help them evaluate their values, interests, personality, and skills in relation to college and career planning.
